    Just finished checking out my competitions times and distances for the Para triathlon World Championships at Hyde Park this Saturday. My field (TRI 3) looks very competitive and I’ll be competing against athletes from Great Britain, Canada, Germany and France. I’m feeling very fit, well prepared and accepting my nervousness as part of the event. I shall keep you posted. Steve Judge

  • 12/07/2010 The Kestrels family summer picnic is set for Saturday 14th August. Bring your own food and drink and BBQ! Tea and coffee will be provided. It may be busy so get their early to get a good spot. Meet at the camping area (opposite the 3 lakes classic / 24hr run meeting place.). Games as usual for adults and kids alike.

  • I came second and claimed the European Champions Silver medal (Paratriathlon TRI 3) I’m ecstatic about the result as I gave everything I had to give andSJ2justifies all the training I have put in upto now.
    Thank you very much for all of your messages of encouragement, I managed to read them all before the event which was great.      The swim was good, the cycle was good the run was tough as it was undulated through the centre of Athlone with tight corners and the transition area was longestI ever come across. The crowds were fantastic and wearing the GB kit inspired them to shout ‘Go GB’ at me which was quite emotional.
    I won’t ramble on but feel free to look at a couple of photos if you find me on facebook (none of me actually competing yet until I find some official ones)
    Training continues…18 days until the World Championships in Hyde Park. (3.30pm feel free to come and support team GB)

  • I’m feeling nervous yet excited about competing at International Level and aiming to beat the man in front! Training has been exceptionally hard especially through the cold winter but being part of the Killamarsh Kestrels has made it more fun. I will have no regrets when I am there on the start line ready for the race to begin. Event will be equal to ‘Sprint Distance’  Swim = Open water 750m, Bike = 20K, Run = 5K. Stephen Judge.

  • 07/06/2010 Chester marathon results posted thanks to Sue White.Paul & I did Chester Marathon on Monday 31st May.
    1st time race has been held but it was very well organised. They had thought of everything eg Close to venue parking, drink stations every 2.5 miles,traffic free course,plenty of supporters, stadium finish, medal,tee shirt & goody bag plus Cafe & Bar. It is definitely also a PB potential course.
    Unfortunately Paul suffered an injury at 12 miles which put paid to his target time. I managed to knock 4mins off my previous PB.
    22/05/2010 Your social secretary, Paul Mclintock is gathering names for a kestrels outing to an assault course near Mansfield. It wont be too serious and looks like a good laugh.
